In FY17, we delivered a record $19.3 billion in long-term financing for developing countries, leveraging the power of the private sector to help end poverty and boost shared prosperity.                   

IFC works to maximize access to energy through private sector development of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, while minimizing greenhouse-gas emissions. IFC has financed more than 350 power projects in over 65 countries. IFC’s investments are well-diversified by technology and geography. In Africa, IFC supported the first independent power producers in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Kenya, Togo, Uganda, and co-lead arranged DFI financing for the first IPP in Nigeria (Azura).
